GRASS ROOTS NORTH CAROLINA is a US firearm rights group that has built a solid reputation for being able to raise, change and beat bad legislation.
IN THIS EXCLUSIVE, we speak with the GRNC’s President, Paul Valone, about how it manages to mobilise tens and hundreds of thousands of shooters to do what it takes to make sure politicians don’t ignore them.
Their approach (as it relates to us) has nothing to do with the Second Amendment.
Rather, it’s a template for something that would work in Australia IF we can get properly organised.
Paul speaks about how the GRNC uses modern communications technology to alert shooters to what they need to do, their database which records the voting and survey responses of every politician, and making sure everyone in the NC Legislative knows who they are. They do this with considerable success and have the track record to show.
WE ALSO SHOW you the extensive and complex database that GRNC uses to track politicians and budding candidates on their voting records and survey responses that go towards developing a rating system for voters to see. We’re developing our own system for future use that borrows ideas from this.
PAUL also released “Rules for Anti-Radicals” which is very relevant to dealing with the political problem facing Aussie shooters. It explains the influence of anti-gun groups, the rise of “woke lunacy” and how to inflict “political pain” to make sure politicians pay the price - or are rewarded for support – as necessary.
Importantly it explains the tactics that they use.
WHILE other US groups focus on the Second Amendment – which isn’t relevant to us – the GRNC’s tactics is something every politically active Australian pro-gun group should pay attention to. That’s because these are tactics that can be used here.

WE CHAT with the SFFP and SUA’s Phil Bigg, about the political problems continuing to face Tasmanian shooters.
We discuss the fight over antiques, firearms trafficking, and the vagueness of Tasmania’s firearm laws.
These are matters that Phil has fought hard to bring to the attention of Labor, the Liberals and the Jackie Lambie Network.
We run through the obscene changes Tasmania Police are proposing to make to firearm licence applications, and to any shooter wanting to renew their licence.
PLUS we look at the lie that police minister, Felix Ellis, said to shooters prior to the recent Tasmanian State Election when he committed the Liberal Government to ‘supporting law abiding firearm owners’ – when he’s done the opposite.
If you’re a shooter in Tasmania, help Phil by backing the SFFP (Tas only) and Shooters Union Australia. Don’t forget - SUA membership comes with insurance!
If you’re from a Tasmanian based shooting organisation, this interview should explain why you need to get behind Phil at the next election.
He’s genuine, passionate – and he knows his way around Tasmania’s political system.

A PUBLIC FIGHT between the Liberal and National parties in WA has created an opportunity for shooters to regain some of the ground they lost in recent times against the state’s draconian gun laws.
After making it clear that the National Party will not form a coalition government with the Liberals unless it committed to repealing the new laws, Liberal leader, Libby Mettam, held a media conference to refute the claim.
However, sources from both sides of parliament have described her move as ‘train wreck’, leaving several Liberal MPs at odds with their leader.
IN THIS EPISODE, we take you through that fight, and why the Liberals best hope for next year’s WA State Election is to dump their current leader.
If the cards fall the right way, this could create a significant opportunity for shooters to retaliate against the Cook Government – and wind back the clock on what has been happening.
A win in the west would send a key message to shooters in other states – but getting there will require a bit of luck in having things line up that way.
We also suggest shooters check out WA journo, Ben Harvey’s, take on the state’s gun policy shamble. Check it out - from the 2:40 mark by clicking here:

WE COVER what the outcome of the Queensland State Election means for shooters – and why the Greens lost ground.
PLUS we give a run down of the 2024 SSAA Shot Expo in Melbourne, which was the first one in five years – with a similar show being lined up in Brisbane next May by the Shooters Union Australia.
WE also look at changes Tasmania Police are looking at making to the firearm licence application form – which will make it five times as long as an application for getting a driver’s licence! There are questions which look like they are modelled on what has been happening in WA – so now is the time for shooters EVERYWHERE to make their voices heard.
TasPol are seeking feedback on the proposed form by 21 November – so HERE’S YOUR CHANCE to have your say. Find out more about the changes by clicking here.

WITH QUEENSLAND VOTERS going to the polls this weekend, we look at why shooters up north need to back pro-gun parties such as Katters Australian Party and One Nation ahead of the majors.
Even if you don’t have that choice, you can still put the LNP ahead of Labor and the Greens – which is the best way of sending a message to the Labor government that they need to put more effort into looking after shooters.
This advice is in line with the information being put out by Shooters Union Australia, and with the problems that shooters around the nation are having with wall-to-wall Labor governments, with Tasmania and the NT being the exceptions.
You can see the Shooters Union Australia’s voting advice at: https://shootersunion.com.au/
We also cover the case of the ‘exploding guns’, and the $50,000 donation by SSAA WA to The Nationals.

WE SPEAK with Danny Ryan, Political and PR rep of the VDHA, about duck hunting in Victoria, particularly what duck hunters can or cannot look forward to in 2025.
Will there be a season?
What about using lead ammo?
What does it mean for the future of duck hunting?
We discuss the recent parliamentary committee’s proposal to ban duck hunting. Fortunately, the ban didn’t eventuate, but how long will that last?
There are also a few problems with the new Wildlife Game regulations, particularly if you use lead ammo.
You need to know what calibres may not be available in steel – because it may not be commercially viable for dealers to get the ammo you need.
We cover everything that duck hunters – and the industry that supports them - need to know.
It’s a story of how key losses that outweigh any wins – and what you can do to help turn that tide.

IN THIS EPISODE OF GUN NEWS AUSTRALIA, we speak with One Nation candidate for Cook, Peter Campion, about his journey in politics, the problems with left wing agendas infiltrating both sides of politics, and why shooters need to break old habits when it comes to voting.
He’s Barnaby Joyce’s father-in-law, a pistol shooter, secretary of his club – and believes we need something similar to the Second Amendment.
Join us as we talk about the choices shooters up north have, and some of the darker truths including how the major parties work, election fraud in remote communities and his endeavour to find the current local member, who is nowhere to be seen.

IN THIS EPISODE OF GUN NEWS AUSTRALIA, we speak with the Liberal candidate for the Western Australian seat of Albany in the lead up to the WA state election next March, Tom Brough.
Tom is a passionate member of the SSAA who shares the same view as Liberal Party MP, Dr Steve Thomas, that their party needs to change its tune on firearms, if it is to change its fortunes at the upcoming state election.
Tom talks about the dangers of coming up with ‘placebo policy’ that has no basis that only exists to make the public ‘feel good’. He talks about the need to use the political process to ‘shift the dial’ in how our major parties deal with the firearms issue.
This follows the interview we had with Dr Thomas, which you can listen to at: https://tinyurl.com/steve-thomas-gna
… AND OUR PARTING MESSAGE TO THE LIBERAL PARTY:
Look at what your candidates are saying. Look at what the many, many shooters in WA are saying. Look at the maps published by the police which show the number of votes in Perth to be had. Look at the traction the Nationals are gaining with their forums.
Then sit down with Nick Goiran, Steve Thomas and Tom Brough – to tackle this issue head on. Then you’ll realise there is a significant opportunity that exists for the Liberals to pick up support that it has previously overlooked.

WE chat with Western Australian Liberal Party MP, STEVE THOMAS, about why he crossed the floor from his party to vote against the new gun laws in Western Australia.
He also talks about the broader SOCIALIST AGENDA being run by WA LABOR and why a true conservative would not have supported these types of laws.
Steve also has a message for his party colleagues, and for shooters who want to know what they can and should do to fix the problem that they now have.
COMING UP: We’ve got another interview coming up from within the LIBERAL PARTY in the next few days. This time it's with a candidate contesting next year’s WA State Election, who shares Steve’s views. This is something that the Liberal Party HQ might want to mull over - along with watching what the Nationals WA are doing in this space - and the support they are gaining on the issue.

THE RECENT National Gun Conference was a real success. It turned out better than hoped.
The metrics show how well it was received and why we’re already starting to gear up for the next one. This is an opportunity for EVERY shooting and organisation to jump on board, as we look at what we need to do to implement the things that came out of the first conference.
To see the replay of the 2024 National Gun Conference, just go to tinyurl.com/2024ngc
PLUS we look at why shooters should not leave voting to the last minute. With the NT election coming up this Saturday – and the ACT and Queensland elections coming up in October, we explain why shooters need to slow down and think before casting their vote.
Don’t waste this opportunity to say “NO” to bad gun policies. Don’t leave voting to the last minute.
Vote early or by post, and take your time to ask who the best candidates for you to be able to keep hunting, target shooting, run your farm or keep your gun collection really are!
WE ALSO read an URGENT RECALL that affects every shooter that they need to hear.
